Oh Nanci, from the earlier post, I was so excited that things were looking up and Parker was moving forward. What happened? Of course, Parker is in my prayers. As are you. Hugs.
March 10th, 2009 I received a message from my 25 year old son, Parker, who lives 2,000 miles away. He was in the hospital emergency room. The next morning I was by his side, a feeling of terror in the center of my chest. Parker spent a total of 117 days, or 2808 hours (more than the average person works in an entire year) in the hospital, and had six operations. Seven weeks were spent in the Critical Care Unit, another seven in Intermediate Care. I left my job in MD to stay by his side. This is a journal of those days, weeks, and months we fought together to overcome the odds that were stacked against him.
To My Children So touch the air softly, and swing the broom high. We will dust the grey mountains, and sweep the blue sky: And I'll love you as long as the furrow the plough, As however is ever, and ever is now.
Lord, purge our eyes to see Within the seed a tree, Within the glowing egg a bird, Within the shroud a butterfly: Till taught by such, we see Beyond all creatures, Thee... ~ Christina G. Rossetti Isaiah 58:8 ~ Your Light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
